I was delighted to get my hands on the second book, after being fully invested in the fate of Klay and friends in the first installment. In Arkapta we are introduced to new friends and foes, with increasing jeopardy which keeps us longing to find out what will happen next. I love the encounters with the Aquilla, which George brings to life with stunning imagination. This is a wonderfully rich story both entertaining and deep in it's exploration of the themes of good, evil, truth, love and hope
I absolutely loved this second book in the trilogy which only had one fault: now we have to wait for the third book!
This story did it all: it humoured me, engaged me, gripped me, scared me, encouraged me and opened up my eyes to consider a world and a reality bigger and more beautiful than my current one.
Great character development, new twists and turns and an absolute page-turner! Can’t recommend it enough.
Perhaps a bit slow in the begging few chapters, but great to have the clever recap format! And it did not take long before I was stuck turning page after page! Truly enjoyed getting lost in the world of Arqensia. Can't wait for the 3rd book! And would be amazing to see this as a movie one day... Thank you Benjamin for sharing this world with us!
A continuation of the story of Aquila which starts slowly and gradually gathers pace. As the story unfolds towards the end we get to see the development of the characters and their interaction with each other. A great ending. A must read for anyone who has read Aquila.
Arkapta is seriously good! I enjoyed Aquila but reading this second book I was hooked! The story telling is so rich and points to light and life in what initially feels like a dark world. Thanks for bringing this series of books into the world. I’m looking forward to the final one already!
Every time I picked up the book to read it, I struggled to put it back down again. I loved the creativity and surprises found in Arkapta, and can’t wait to read number 3!
